Communications strategy development

    Multiple partnerships across NHS and Higher Educations, in partnership with Health Education England

    Delivered in Greater Manchester, Cheshire & Merseyside, Lancashire and South Cumbria, Humber and North Yorkshire and East of England.

    The Challenge:

    Health and care systems around England were challenged to work in collaboration with local universities to create a better and more equitable experience for all clinical students on work placements.

    We were approached to create communications strategies for regions across the England to disseminate and enable the outcomes of each region’s approach.

    The Approach:

    We led workshops and one-to-one in-depth interviews with students, educators and stakeholders; to co-produce each strategy to create a sense of involvement and ownership among everyone involved.

    From this we developed agreed outcomes, priorities, detailed messaging hierarchies; and actionable content plans – resulting in focused, coherent and impactful communications content.

    The Outcomes:

    Each region has implemented its communications strategy which has helped to embed the approach across multiple partners.

Campaign delivery

Often, an important output from a communications strategy can be the coordination, delivery and evaluation of an integrated campaign.

    Cheshire East Council, in partnership with local NHS providers and NHE England

    The Challenge:

    Citizens of East Cheshire were offered a unique opportunity to access both their Primary and Secondary Care information available to them through the NHS App, thanks to integration with MyCareView – a local patient-held record initiative.

    The integration with the NHS App was a game changer for patient experience in the region, and we were asked to help local partners reach the local population and encourage them to sign up, to benefit from its unique functionality.

    The Approach:

    We worked with local people and partners to develop a brand identity, and a campaign strategy, which included delivering communications across:

    Outdoor media

    • Social media advertising

    • Community awareness raising

    • PR and media relations

    Our role:

    • Leading the delivery of the entire campaign

    • Brand, narrative & messaging development

    • All creative coordination

    • Script and copywriting

    • Campaign set up and liaison with local suppliers

    • Monitoring and evaluation of entire campaign

    • Reporting to MyCareView Project Board

    The Outcomes:

    • 40,700 registered users 9 months from campaign launch

    • 635% increase in registers users from campaign launch

    • 270,500 online impressions across social media and digital audio advertising

    • 180,000 homes reached with door-to-door distribution

    • 35 public-realm advertising sites across East Cheshire

    • Winner of IESE Awards Gold Award 2022, Health Tech Awards 2021
